Everything the Cyber Treasury portal expects on a Central Sales Tax challan — including the two things that most often send people back to the start.
The CST challan is not under the challan menus most people try first. On mptreasury.gov.in, the path is:
Cyber Treasury → Pay Taxes (under For Unregistered User) → Central Sales Tax.
No portal login is required. Central Sales Tax is currently the only Act offered on the unregistered path.
The Registration No. / TIN box takes an 11-digit MP VAT/CST TIN — not a 15-character GSTIN. Madhya Pradesh TINs begin with 23, the state code.
Two things about this field surprise people:
Dealers without a registration number conventionally use eleven 9s.
The CST form offers a fixed list of 14 Heads of Account, including:
The Purpose dropdown is a separate fixed list — Tax, Penalty, Interest, Composition Money, Registration fee and so on. It does not change based on the Head of Account you pick, so the two can be chosen in any order.
Filling in the fields does not record anything. You must click “Click here to Add Challan” so the line moves into the grid below. Only then do the bank and payment options apply to it.
This is also how you file several challans at once: fill a line, click Add Challan, and repeat. On Commercial Tax the portal accepts more than one row against the same Head of Account — so Tax, Interest and Penalty on a single head is perfectly normal, unlike Common Challan where the grid rejects duplicates.
If you file these regularly, the retyping is the whole cost — the same TIN, address, office and Head of Account on every challan. MP Treasury Autofill saves them once and fills the form in a click, including the Add Challan step, so only choosing a bank and paying is left. It handles Common Challan and Deposit Fund Transfer the same way.
